The rupee surged 22 paise to shut at 75.51 (provisional) towards the US greenback on Tuesday, amid a weak American foreign money within the abroad market.
On the interbank overseas alternate, the rupee opened at 75.89, then pared the preliminary losses to lastly settle at 75.51 towards the US greenback, registering an increase of 22 paise over its earlier shut.
In the course of the day, the home unit hit an intra-day excessive of 75.49 and a low of 75.95 towards the buck.
On Monday, the rupee had settled at 75.73 towards the US greenback.
